A National Seminar on the topic “Managing Financial Risk: Emerging Scenario” was conducted on the campus on the 5th & 6th of January 2010. It was convened by our Principal Prof.(Dr.) Bishnupriya Mishra and coordinated by Ms. Roshni Mohanty. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. Soumya Ranjan Pattnaik, Editor, Sambad and the Chief Speaker was Prof. Nikhil Chandra Sheal, East West University, Bangladesh. The two days seminar was a grand success in which students, faculty members, practitioners & research scholars from all the over the country participated in great numbers.

1st day of the Seminar
The first day’s topic was Banks, Financial Institutions & Financial Markets. It was chaired by Prof. Pravakar Mohanty of IDCOL and Prof. S.Maharana, Utkal University. The topic of technical session II was: Insurance, General & Operational Risk Management. It was chaired by Mr. Rabi Narayan Kishore, Chief Divisional Manager of LIC and Mr. Divya Prakash Das, G.M.Metlife.

2nd Day of the Seminar
On the 2nd day, the 3rd technical session’s topic was: Volatility in Markets & Derivatives Instruments. It was chaired by Mr. Debaraj Biswal, CEO of Stock Exchange & Prof. (Dr.) N.C.Kar, Professor of Finance, Department of Business Administration, Utkal University.

Valedictory Function:
On the valedictory function, the Chief Guest was Mr. Swapan Kumar Dasgupta, CEO, CESU and the Chief Speaker was Mr. A.K.Sabat, Chartered Accountant.

The seminar was convened by Prof. (Dr.) Bishupriya Mishra, Principal, Academy of Management Studies and was presided over by the Vice-Chairman of Krupajal Group of Institution, Prof. Subrat Prasanna Mishra.
