| IT DESTINATION |
| |
Dr.
R.K.MALU
Prof, OCA
The Manager is a decision maker. To take decision
there is a strong requirement of information.
The information is prepared through data processing.
Date processing needs construction of modeling,
use of date base and design of input / output
formats. The manger should involve in both information
processing and decisionmaking. A Cybernetic
paradigm is essential to make the decision more
scientific and effective. Therefore, the future
managers are to be groomed with computer knowledge
beside the core fields. Moreover most of the
corporate to day are migrating to computerized
system. A manager aught to be computer savvy
to match the need of the organization. The course
curriculums are designed at academic level to
cater the needs of the future manager. A student
having the MBA degree with additional IT (Information
Technology) qualification will have a strong
foot hold in searching a job. Many computer
organizations are looking for students having
such academic background. The perception of
reality has been changed in organizations and
academics. Let us tighten our belt now and get
ready to reach the destination to serve the
organization efficiently and effectively.

| ACTIVE AND INTELLIGENT
FOOD PACKAGING |
| |
Er.
P.K. Tripathy
Professor, Marketing
Every Product needs some sort of packaging
for protection during transportation, handling,
storage and use. The main purpose of food packaging
is to protect it from microbial and chemical
Contamination. It also provides information
about the product. The various packing concepts
are passive, active and intelligent
Packaging.
Passive Packaging is a traditional one, which
provides protection from external elements such
as air and moisture. It consists of covering
material, which acts like an insulator and protector.
Ex. Plastic bag, Paper bag.
Active packaging extends the life of material
and improves its safety and sensory properties.
It absorbs, removes and then eliminate substances
like Oxygen, ethylene, moisture etc. It does
not have any effect in quality of food material
except extending the life period.
Intelligent packaging monitors and indicates
the quality of food material inside it besides
extending the life period. Here the package
function switches off and on in response to
changing in internal condition and gives communication
to the customer or end user. In future, innovative
packaging concepts are needed which can provide
better technical value maintaining the quality
of product inside it at a lower cost.

| SMILE IS THE SECRET
OF SUCCESS |
| |
Mr. Manmaya
Nayak
Faculty (MBA)
Working hard and having the right
contract is the one way to climb the career Ladder.
But according to scientists, if you want to be
really successful all you have to do is smile.
Happy people tend to achieve more than those with
a miserable and sad outlook. This is because they
are more likely to seek out new goals and challenges.
Fulfilling these goals often leads to success
in career or relationships. .
Their positive moods are also
likely to make them energetic, outgoing and popular
and help them to do well. As a result, cheerful
souls are likely to be paid more, have happier
marriages and live longer than their glum peers.
Happiness makes us behave in
a way that can increase our success levels in
work and relationships. Dr. Sonja Lyubomirsky,
who did a study at the universities of California,
Missouri and Illinois said that those blessed
with a happy disposition were the most likely
to achieve “favorable life circumstances”.
“This may be because happy people, frequently
experience positive moods and these moods prompt
them to be more likely to do work actively towards
new goals and to built new resources” she
said.
“When people feel happy
they tend to feel confident, optimistic and energetic
and others find them likeable and sociable. Happy
people are thus able to benefit from these perceptions. |

| ONE MAN MAKES THE
DIFFERENCE |
| |
Mr. Manmaya
Nayak
Faculty (MBA)
The word “Leader”
Comes from “Lord” which meant, in
Old Norse, the course or path of a ship at sea.
The leader was the captain, who in Viking days
was usually the steersman and navigator as well.
Now, whether one is the leader of a nation, of
a business of a department, or of a home, one
has to have the following :
- The ability to think deeply.
- The ability to communicate effectively.
- The ability to foresee the future and take
necessary corrective action from time to time.
- The ability to make things happen.
- The image and character of any group are
reflections of the image and character of its
leader..... the man who makes all the difference.
